Street Entertainers Code of Conduct
As with any vibrant town centre there is a place for street entertainers. To ensure that these entertainers know the do's and don'ts of working in Bournemouth a simple single colour leaflet was produced. This leaflet contained basic rules and a map on the reverse to show the allocated areas appropriate for their entertainment. |
|
Shop Watch
Bournemouth's Shop Watch scheme required the production of vinyl stickers that would be eye catching without dominating valuable display space. These stickers could be stuck to the insides of participating shop windows at the point of entry to deter any would-be shop lifters. |
|
Sunday Shopping
With the relaxing of trading laws came Sunday shopping. To ensure that Bournemouth secured its share of Sunday trade vinyl banners were produced to go into shop windows that were intending to open on Sundays and supporting posters produced. |
|
Pub 'n' Club Watch
Dorset Police approached Bournemouth Town Centre Management to aid them in creating a campaign that would help reduce drink related violence. The resulting poster campaign was based on the belief that a violently motivated individual is hard to reason with at the best of times and even less likely to respond to a 'please behave' message on a poster. |
|
With this in mind a firm approach was decided upon using the full weight of existing laws and utilising the already comprehensive network of CCTV cameras in Bournemouth's Town Centre. The Poster message needed to be short and to the point. In addition to the posters vinyl stickers were produced for display on windows and walls etc. All local media were informed to raise public awareness. |

Bournemouth Town Centre Management
Bournemouth Town Centre was pronounced clear winners of the 'Town Centre Management Awards 1999'. This much deserved accolade is due to the Marketing and Business skills of Brigid Carroll and Denham Design is proud to be associated with these high standards of professionalism. |
