Part 1 of 2 |
Background
At the 'World Summit' held in Brazil in 1992 'Agenda 21' was formulated-a strategy committed to achieving 'World Sustainable Development' into the 21st Century. Chapter 25 of this Agenda called 'Children and Youth in Sustainable Development' focuses on what the younger generation think, not only about world issues but also local issues that effect them. |
The overall objective of PYPA 21 was to make this younger generation aware that a framework was in place that could hear and deliver their thoughts and opinions at the highest levels. |
The PYPA 21 Identity
Prior to approaching Denham Design PYPA 21 held a competition for local schools to design a logo. The winners original Artwork was scanned and reproduced as a 'vectored' image to suit any future usage. |
Promotional Leaflet & Membership Form.
This formed a central role in the promotion of PYPA .21 and was designed for children aged from 5 up to 12. Presentations of 'What PYPA 21 is' were given in schools and clubs etc and the leaflet/membership forms given out to those interested. |
This leaflet explains in 'easy speak' the background of PYPA 21 and encourages them to to discuss environmental issues with friends and family. The accompanying membership application form gives them the chance to show their support by applying for membership. |
Presentation Folder
PYPA 21 also needed to reach older children and adults. Older children certainly don't want to be treated like kids! To resolve this issue they were given 'Presentation Folders' and any other appropriate documentation and treated as 'more grown up' members. A number of these older members would in time give their own PYPA 21 presentations and issue the Leaflets and membership forms to their younger audience. |
